The Old Croft House- Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in the heart of the beautiful Upper Eden Valley
The Old Croft House is a Grade II listed Georgian town house situated in the market town of Kirkby Stephen in the beautiful Eden Valley. The house dates from 1750 and has retained much of its original charm and character with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Kirkby Stephen is surrounded by spectacular countryside and enjoys an enviable position between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks with the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a short drive away. It was the first "Walkers are Welcome" town in Cumbria and is on the route of Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk and The Pennine Journey, The Lady Anne Way and and also the Walney to Wear cycle route. There are excellent walking and cycling opportunities locally and the area has an amazing range of flora and fauna, with four nature reserves within a 5 mile radius of Kirkby Stephen. The town is a wonderful base from which to explore the glorious countryside and to experience a range of activities. On your arrival Rachel and Nick will welcome you with tea or coffee and homemade cakes, in the comfort of the lounge, or in our walled garden where you can enjoy the sunshine and look out for the parrots which fly over frequently.
We take great pleasure in welcoming our guests to The Old Croft House and will do everything we can to make your stay, however long or short, a relaxing and enjoyable one.
